Penang, 14th November 2023 – Boon Siew Honda introduces a new colour and stripe selection for CB650R and CBR650R. Since their introduction in 2019, Honda’s CB650R Neo Sports Café middleweight and its sibling, the CBR650R have established a popular position within the Malaysian motorcycle landscape thanks to their seamless combination of exhilarating four-cylinder engine performance, light, refined handling, rich specification list and distinctive, head-turning looks.
In 2021, both received a major front suspension upgrade and a range of improvements to enhance comfort, usability, and practicality for their users. For 2023, both these popular models receive refreshments in terms of colour and stripe options.
Honda CB650R and CBR650R are equipped with 649cc, DOHC 16-valve, EURO 5 engines which can be tuned to create the purest, most enjoyable mid-sized four-cylinder performance possible. The engine produces a peak power of 70kW at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 8,500 rpm. It features Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to maintain rear-wheel traction and an ignition switch for creating a minimalist frontal area. Equipped with a 2-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to provide a greater level of braking confidence and comfort to its riders.
Both models come with 41mm Showa Separate Function-Big Piston (SSF-BP) upside-down (USD) fork, which elevates the bike’s handling ability. The USB Type-C socket under the seat was equipped for riders’ convenience.
For 2023, CB650R will be available in Candy Chromosphere Red and Mat Jeans Blue Metallic and all-new Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic, which itself is enhanced further with all-black detailing throughout including the cam cover, fork stanchions, side shrouds, levers, and footpegs
Meanwhile, the 2023 CBR650R receives a refreshed visual for both its colour options of Grand Prix Red and Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic. Both colour options receive visual updates including new all-black engine and cam covers. The Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic features new blue highlights on the tank, tail and fairing, and a new red shock spring. The Grand Prix Red features a new black front mudguard and a new black belly pan that features a bold red Honda logo that chimes neatly with the new red fork spring.
